A JOINT RESOLUTION

TO APPROVE REGULATIONS OF THE DEPARTMENT OF LABOR, LICENSING AND REGULATION, BOARD OF MEDICAL EXAMINERS, RELATING TO REQUIREMENTS FOR LIMITED LICENSE, DESIGNATED AS REGULATION DOCUMENT NUMBER 2860, PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF ARTICLE 1, CHAPTER 23, TITLE 1 OF THE 1976 CODE.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION    1.    The regulations of the Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation, Board of Medical Examiners, relating to Requirements for Limited License, designated as Regulation Document Number 2860, and submitted to the General Assembly pursuant to the provisions of Article 1, Chapter 23, Title 1 of the 1976 Code, are approved.

SECTION    2.    This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.

SUMMARY AS SUBMITTED

BY PROMULGATING AGENCY.

The State Board of Medical Examiners is amending Regulations 81-70 and 81-90 by changing "associate" to "assistant" professor so as to permit licensure for employment of certain academic faculty at the rank of assistant professor or greater at medical schools in South Carolina. Additionally, 81-70 is itemized and the text is clarified.
