THE COMMITTEE ON FISH, GAME AND FORESTRY

To whom was referred a Bill (S. 156) to amend Section 50-21-135, as amended, Code of Laws of South Carolina, 1976, relating to establishment of a no wake zone on the Ashley River, etc., respectfully

REPORT:

That they have duly and carefully considered the same and recommend that the same do pass:

A BILL

TO AMEND SECTION 50-21-135, AS AMENDED, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO ESTABLISHMENT OF A NO WAKE ZONE ON THE ASHLEY RIVER, SO AS TO PROVIDE FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A NO WAKE ZONE FOR A CERTAIN PORTION OF ADAM'S CREEK ADJACENT TO WADMALAW ISLAND.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION    1.    Section 50-21-135 of the 1976 Code, as last amended by Act 181 of 1993, is further amended to read:

"Section 50-21-135.    (A)    There is established A no wake zone is established on the Ashley River within one hundred yards of the Dolphin Cove Marina in Charleston County. These The boundaries of this no wake zone must be marked clearly with signs. The signs must be designed and installed as specified by the department.

(B)    A no wake zone is established on the portion of Adam's Creek lying within three hundred fifty yards on each side of the Rockville Marine Boat Yard on Wadmalaw Island. The boundaries of this no wake zone must be marked clearly with signs designed and installed as specified by the department."

SECTION    2.    This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
