A BILL

TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 30-4-75 SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT MEETINGS OF THE GOVERNOR WITH AGENCY OR DEPARTMENT HEADS HE APPOINTS TOGETHER WITH ANY OTHER PUBLIC OFFICIALS OR EMPLOYEES INVITED TO ATTEND MUST BE OPEN TO THE PUBLIC IN THE SAME MANNER AND UNDER THE SAME CONDITIONS THAT MEETINGS OF PUBLIC BODIES MUST BE OPEN TO THE PUBLIC UNDER THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION    1.    Chapter 4, Title 30 of the 1976 Code is amended by adding:

"Section 30-4-75.    Meetings of the Governor with agency or department heads he appoints together with any other public officials or employees invited to attend must be open to the public in the same manner and under the same conditions that meetings of public bodies must be open to the public under this chapter."

SECTION    2.    This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
