A JOINT RESOLUTION

TO APPROVE REGULATIONS OF THE BOARD OF EDUCATION, RELATING TO GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS, DESIGNATED AS REGULATION DOCUMENT NUMBER 2795, PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF ARTICLE 1, CHAPTER 23, TITLE 1 OF THE 1976 CODE.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION    1.    The regulations of the Board of Education, relating to Graduation Requirements, designated as Regulation Document Number 2795, and submitted to the General Assembly pursuant to the provisions of Article 1, Chapter 23, Title 1 of the 1976 Code, are approved.

SECTION    2.    This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.

SUMMARY AS SUBMITTED

BY PROMULGATING AGENCY.

A revised version of the Tests of General Educational Development (GED) was put into service on January 1, 2002, by the American Council on Education's GED Testing Service. With this new version a revised scoring scale was put into place. Amendments will need to be made to Sections (B)(1)(b)(2), (B)(1)(c)(5), (B)(2)(c)&(d), and (B)(3)(a)(4)(a)&(b) to reflect the new scoring scale.
