VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
TO EXTEND THE APPRECIATION OF THE MEMBERS OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA GENERAL ASSEMBLY TO MR. C. WAYNE CROCKER, AIA, OF SPARTANBURG FOR HIS YEARS OF SERVICE TO HIS COMMUNITY AND TO THIS STATE THROUGH HIS EXPERTISE IN ARCHITECTURE, AND TO WISH HIM MUCH SUCCESS AND HAPPINESS IN HIS FUTURE ENDEAVORS.
Whereas, it is with great pleasure that we recognize South Carolinians who are dedicated to giving their time and energy to helping build a sense of togetherness among the people of their communities; and
Whereas, it is appropriate to recognize the great achievements of the people who serve on boards and commissions to ensure the safety of the citizens of this State; and
Whereas, Mr. Wayne Crocker of Spartanburg is a 1969 graduate of Clemson University, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture; and
Whereas, Mr. Crocker is an innovative architect and is the Chief Executive Officer of Hollis-Crocker, Architects, P.C. in Spartanburg, which has been in business for twenty-nine years; and
Whereas, he generously gave his knowledge and talents to the City of Spartanburg Zoning Board of Adjustments and Appeals, serving as the Vice Chairman, and he is a current member of the City of Spartanburg Building Board of Adjustments and Appeals; and
Whereas, he is a member of the American Institute of Architects and formerly served as the Section Director and President of the Spartanburg Section of that organization; and
Whereas, Mr. Crocker is also very involved in other civic groups in Spartanburg, including Leadership Spartanburg, Friends of the Library, Spartanburg County Historical Association, and Sertoma, in which he served as the President and Chairman of the Board; and
Whereas, he received prestigious Sertoma awards in 1989 when he was named the District Sertoman of the Year and the Regional Sertoman of the Year; and
Whereas, Mr. Crocker is also an active member of Southside Baptist Church, holding the position of Sunday School Director and having served as a Deacon of the church; and
Whereas, we are pleased to be able to recognize such an exceptional individual of the Spartanburg area and the State of South Carolina. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:
That the members of the South Carolina General Assembly extend their appreciation to Mr. C. Wayne Crocker, AIA, of Spartanburg for his years of service to his community and to this State through his expertise in architecture, and wish him much success and happiness in his future endeavors.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mr. Wayne Crocker of Spartanburg.
