A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO EXTEND THE CONGRATULATIONS OF THE MEMBERS OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA TO THE A.C. FLORA HIGH SCHOOL "FALCONS" GOLF TEAM AND HEAD COACH HARRY HUNTLEY ON THEIR OUTSTANDING DETERMINATION AND HARD WORK THROUGHOUT THE SEASON AND ON CAPTURING THE 2003 CLASS AAA STATE GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE ON TUESDAY, MAY 13, 2003.

Whereas, the game of golf affords young people the opportunity to learn the importance of dedication and teamwork while developing unique talents; and

Whereas, becoming a champion in this sport requires every member of the team and coaching staff to have special leadership skills and athletic abilities; and

Whereas, using those talents, Head Coach Harry Huntley, Assistant Coach Mike Powell, and the members of the A.C. Flora High School "Falcons" Golf Team played matches throughout their season with determination and precision to become the best golf team in their division; and

Whereas, the A.C. Flora "Falcons" Golf Team won four regular season tournaments and contended for titles in several other matches; and

Whereas, with every team member's enthusiasm and hard work and under the direction of Coach Huntley, the A.C. Flora High School "Falcons" Golf Team swept past teams from across the State, beating out their competition by 27 strokes, to become the 2003 Class AAA State Golf Champions, at the championship tournament in Myrtle Beach; and

Whereas, the members of this exceptional team are Michael Chappell, Sam Crews, Grayson Lambert, Mark Lentz, 3-A Individual State Champion Fielder Huntley, Matthew Nickles, Marshall Ormand, Danny Priester, Michael Powell, Jonathan Strauss, McLean Sims, Brandon Hewitt, and Victor Wakefield; and

Whereas, it is with great pleasure that we recognize the physical and mental abilities of these young South Carolinians and hope that they will use those skills in their future endeavors. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, extend their congratulations to the A.C. Flora High School "Falcons" Golf Team and Head Coach Harry Huntley, on their outstanding determination and hard work throughout the season and on capturing the 2003 Class AAA State Golf Championship Title on Tuesday, May 13, 2003.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to the members of the A.C. Flora High School "Falcons" Golf Team and Head Coach Harry Huntley.
