A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

THE MEMBERS OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA GENERAL ASSEMBLY THANK JUDY WESTON FOR HER MANY YEARS OF DEDICATED PUBLIC SERVICE AND HER VITAL CONTRIBUTIONS TO CITIZENS AND ELECTED OFFICIALS ALIKE AND CONGRATULATE TO HER ON THE OCCASION OF HER RETIREMENT AND WISH HER WELL IN ALL HER FUTURE ENDEAVORS, ESPECIALLY IN HER BELOVED ROLE OF "GRANDMOTHER".

Whereas, Judy Weston began her career in public service in 1978 with the SC Department of Human Affairs; and

Whereas, Mrs. Weston continued her distinguished public service with the South Carolina Forestry Commission beginning October 23, 1980 continuing until the present; and

Whereas, she served as the Executive Assistant to four different State Foresters, each of whom hold her in the highest regard for her diligent work and insights; and

Whereas, in her duties as Executive Assistant she served as the agency liaison to the Commissioners and has earned the esteem and appreciation of its many members during her years of service;

Whereas, Mrs. Weston was honored in 1988 as the Outstanding State Employee of the Year by the South Carolina State Employees Association; and

Whereas, her career in community service is equally outstanding, serving in numerous capacities including the founding organizer of the Annual Okra Strut Parade of Irmo; and

Whereas, she is known as a cheerful lady of the highest integrity and always helpful to others, and her numerous contributions to this State she loves so dearly will be realized for many years to come. Now, therefore;

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, thank Judy Weston for her many years of dedicated public service and her vital contributions to citizens and elected officials alike and congratulate her on the occasion of her retirement and wish her well in all her future endeavors, especially in her beloved role of "Grandmother".

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Judy Weston.
