A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE JESSICA DIANE EDDINS FOR HER WONDERFUL REIGN AS MISS SOUTH CAROLINA 2003 AND WISH HER EVERY SUCCESS IN THE FUTURE AS HER REIGN COMES TO A CLOSE.

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly are extremely proud to recognize Jessica Diane Eddins, Miss South Carolina 2003, whose reign has brought great praise and honor not only to her but to the State of South Carolina as well; and

Whereas, this talented young woman is a graduate of Irmo High School and Charleston Southern University, and after her reign she would like to pursue a career as a private music therapist; and

Whereas, Jessica Eddins won the Miss South Carolina contest through a combination of natural beauty, outstanding vocal talent, evidenced by her performance of the Broadway tune "And This is My Beloved," and her "Arts Advantage" platform focusing awareness on the benefits of the arts especially in schools; and

Whereas, her scholastic activities include being an active member of the Beta Club, a member of the Honors Choir, a performer in theatrical productions for fifteen years, and a four-year recipient of the Charleston Southern University Vocal Scholarship; and

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly would like to congratulate this amazing and talented young woman for a memorable reign as Miss South Carolina 2003 and thank her for being an outstanding ambassador for South Carolina. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, congratulate Jessica Diane Eddins for her wonderful reign as Miss South Carolina 2003 and wish her every success in the future as her reign comes to a close.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Jessica Diane Eddins, Miss South Carolina 2003.
