A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO EXPRESS THE PROFOUND SORROW OF THE MEMBERS OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA ON THE DEATH OF WILLIAM MACK CHAMBLEE OF ANDERSON COUNTY AND TO EXTEND THEIR DEEPEST SYMPATHY TO HIS FAMILY AND MANY FRIENDS.

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina General Assembly are deeply saddened to learn of the death of Mr. William Mack Chamblee of Anderson County; and

Whereas, he was the beloved husband of Jane Chamblee, father to two sons, Craig and Dave, and the proud grandfather of four grandchildren; and

Whereas, he is also survived by his dear mother, Azilee Chamblee of Anderson, and two sisters, Emily Jones of Camden and Linda Maddox of North Carolina; and

Whereas, Mr. Chamblee contributed to his church and community in many ways throughout his lifetime spent in South Carolina; and

Whereas, he was a faithful and active member of the St. John's Methodist Church in Anderson; and

Whereas, he was an involved member in the Greater Anderson Rotary Club, the Anderson Area Chamber of Commerce, and served on the Land Use Variable Board for Anderson County; and

Whereas, receiving his real estate license in 1979, Mr. Chamblee spent over twenty-five years in the real estate field; and

Whereas, since 1994, he served with distinction on the Board of Directors for Anderson Association REALTORS, served as its president in 1995, served on the Executive Committee from 1998 to 1999, and served on the South Carolina Board of Directors for the South Carolina Association of REALTORS from 2002 to 2003; and

Whereas, he was honored to receive the 1997 Realtor of the Year Award and the 2002 Distinguished Service Award from the Anderson Association of REALTORS; and

Whereas, he was also proud to be a 2002 Graduate of Leadership, South Carolina Association of Realtors as well as a life member of the Top Producers Club of the Anderson Association of REALTORS; and

Whereas, the South Carolina General Assembly is proud to honor the life and the many contributions that Mr. Chamblee made to the Anderson County community and the State over his lifetime. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, express the profound sorrow of the members of the South Carolina General Assembly on the death of William Mack Chamblee of Anderson County and extend their deepest sympathy to his family and many friends.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the family of the late William Mack Chamblee.
