TO COMMEND AND CONGRATULATE BOB PATEL OF SUMMERTON ON BEING NAMED THE FRANCHISEE OF THE YEAR FOR THE KNIGHT'S INN CORPORATION AND RECOGNIZE HIM FOR ALSO RECEIVING THE RENOVATION OF THE YEAR AND QUALITY OF THE YEAR AWARD FROM THE KNIGHT'S INN CORPORATION.
Whereas, it is with great pleasure that we recognize South Carolinians who are dedicated to giving their time and energy to improve tourism and comfort to the people of the Palmetto State; and
Whereas, it is appropriate to recognize the great achievements and lasting service of the people who work to provide memorable experiences and the comforts of home to the visitors to our State; and
Whereas, Bob Patel is recognized as a highly outstanding hotelier of the 230 member Knight's Inn chain and is an outstanding, beloved, and respected citizen of the town of Summerton; and
Whereas, under Mr. Patel's leadership, his branch of the Knight's Inn Corporation won the coveted Franchisee of the Year Award from the national headquarters of the Knight's Inn Corporation, an esteemed honor in the hotel industry; and
Whereas, in addition to winning the Franchisee of the Year Award, Mr. Patel also received the Renovation of the Year Award and the Quality of the Year Award from the Knight's Inn Corporation, making this an unprecedented "triple" win; and
Whereas, by receiving these awards, Mr. Patel has brought recognition to the town of Summerton and his hard work has created jobs, a tax base, and further developments in his community where there have been major obstacles to long-term growth; and
Whereas, Mr. Patel's contributions to the town of Summerton as well as to tourism in South Carolina as a whole bring pride to the Palmetto State and make it proud to call Mr. Patel one of its own. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, commend and congratulate Bob Patel of Summerton on being named Franchisee of the Year for the Knight's Inn Corporation and recognize him for also being awarded the Renovation of the Year and the Quality of the Year Awards from the Knight's Inn Corporation.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Bob Patel of Summerton.
