A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZE AND CONGRATULATE THE SOUTH CAROLINA BEER WHOLESALERS ASSOCIATION ON THE OCCASION OF ITS SIXTY-FIFTH ANNIVERSARY AND TO EXTEND BEST WISHES TO THEM FOR THE FUTURE.

Whereas, established in 1939, the South Carolina Beer Wholesalers Association will celebrate its sixty-fifth anniversary in June of 2004 at its annual meeting; and

Whereas, the Association's membership currently includes twenty-three wholesalers with twenty-eight licenses; and

Whereas, these family-owned, independently managed, small businesses provide revenue to the State, jobs to the citizens, and play an active role in the community; and

Whereas, the wholesalers actively promote responsible consumption of their products and, in fact, no other industry does more to prevent the abuse of its product; and

Whereas, delivering more than just beer, these hard-working beer wholesalers give back to their local communities and the State by providing jobs, supporting charities, and paying taxes; and

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina Beer Wholesalers Association touch virtually every community in the Palmetto State, supporting nearly 1.6 billion dollars in annual economic activity; and

Whereas, the Association provides leadership to the wholesalers, advocates on behalf of its members, and provides services to enhance members' efficiency and effectiveness across the State; and

Whereas, the South Carolina Beer Wholesalers Association has provided an extensive amount of revenue and jobs for the citizens of South Carolina and we are proud to recognize this organization upon its sixty-fifth anniversary and wish them many more prosperous years. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, recognize and congratulate the South Carolina Beer Wholesalers Association on the occasion of its sixty-fifth anniversary and extend best wishes to them for the future.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the South Carolina Beer Wholesalers Association.
