VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
TO CONGRATULATE THE MEMBERS OF THE A. C. FLORA HIGH SCHOOL BOYS TENNIS TEAM AND HEAD COACH JOE BAILEY FOR WINNING THE 2004 STATE CLASS AAA TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIP.
Whereas, the members of the House of Representatives were pleased to learn that the A. C. Flora High School Boys Tennis Team won the State Class AAA Championship by defeating Greenville 6-0; and
Whereas, this championship is the first for Head Coach Joe Bailey, one of the finest prep tennis coaches in the State, after coaching the Flora boys tennis team for twenty-eight years; and
Whereas, in order to win this championship and compile a season match record of 22-1, the Falcons had to overcome the youth and relative inexperience of their team, but their talent and attitude enabled them to capture their first state championship; and
Whereas, in order to reach the title match with Greenville, Flora had to first beat a fine Myrtle Beach team which had played for the past seven state championships, and in a hard-fought match, they were able to defeat Myrtle Beach by a 4-2 score; and
Whereas, the A. C. Flora High School 2004 boys tennis team consists of: Luke Whiteside, Yuri Veytskin, Nick Rowe, Bryant Lambert, John Hobbs, Peter Mathias, Chris Muthig, Travis Muthig, Hunter Davis, Lisle Traywick, John Thorne, and Kenny Bovain; and
Whereas, with all top six players returning next year, the Falcons should be a force to be reckoned with in Class AAA tennis for many years to come; and
Whereas, the members of the House of Representatives, by this resolution, would like to publicly recognize and congratulate this talented group of young men and their outstanding coach upon the occasion of their winning this truly deserved championship. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the House of Representatives congratulate the members of the A. C. Flora High School Boys Tennis Team and Head Coach Joe Bailey for winning the 2004 State Class AAA Tennis Championship.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Coach Joe Bailey.
