A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO EXTEND WARMEST REGARDS AND HEARTFELT CONGRATULATIONS TO MRS. ETHEL ALFORD WHO TURNED NINETY YEARS OF AGE ON MARCH 29, 2003, AND WHO WILL BE HONORED ON THE OCCASION OF THE WILLIAMS FAMILY REUNION IN THE GREAT CITY OF BENNETTSVILLE, ON MAY 23-25, 2003, AND TO EXTEND TO HER CONGRATULATIONS AND GOOD WISHES FOR CONTINUED HAPPINESS AND GOOD HEALTH IN THE YEARS TO COME.

Whereas, Mrs. Ethel Alford celebrated her ninetieth birthday on March 29, 2003; and

Whereas, as the oldest living member of the late Reverend Olin and Luella Williams, Sr., Mrs. Alford will be honored at the Williams family reunion at the Berea Center in Bennettsville, on May 23-25, 2003; and

Whereas, Mrs. Ethel Alford is a spirited young lady who has helped many of her neighbors and family members over the years; and

Whereas, still active in her church, Mrs. Alford is willing to give a helping hand when asked; and

Whereas, Mrs. Ethel Alford is cherished by her family and friends and is renowned for her delicious homemade rolls; and

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly, by this resolution, wish to join in the spirit of this glorious occasion of the Williams family reunion to express their warmest congratulations and heartfelt admiration to Mrs. Ethel Alford. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring;

That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina extend warmest regards and heartfelt congratulations to Mrs. Ethel Alford, who turned ninety years of age on March 29, 2003, and who will be honored on the occasion of the Williams family reunion in the great city of Bennettsville, on May 23-25, 2003, and extend to her congratulations and good wishes for continued happiness and good health in the years to come.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mrs. Ethel Alford.
