A SENATE RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE ELLEN TOLLISON HAYDEN UPON THE OCCASION OF HER RETIREMENT AS THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA GOVERNOR'S SCHOOL OF SCIENCE AND MATHEMATICS FOUNDATION AND TO WISH HER MUCH SUCCESS AND HAPPINESS IN ALL OF HER FUTURE ENDEAVORS.

Whereas, Ellen Tollison Hayden received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English from Coker College and later received a Masters Degree in English from the University of South Carolina; and

Whereas, Mrs. Hayden has dedicated thirty-three years of service to the improvement and advancement of the State of South Carolina; and

Whereas, while holding the position of Executive Director of the Governor's School of Science and Mathematics Foundation the foundation grew to support an eight million dollar endowment that allows grants to the school above and beyond what the State funds; and

Whereas, Mrs. Hayden's perseverance and commitment has put the Foundation on a solid financial footing, and her many travels across the State have helped spread the word about the Governor's School of Science and Mathematics. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the members of the South Carolina Senate, by this resolution, congratulate Ellen Tollison Hayden upon the occasion of her retirement as the Executive Director of the Governor's School of Science and Mathematics Foundation and to wish her much success and happiness in all of her future endeavors.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Ellen Tollison Hayden.
