A SENATE RESOLUTION

TO COMMEND AND CONGRATULATE THE SUNBELT HUMAN ADVANCEMENT RESOURCES (SHARE) ORGANIZATION FOR BEING CHARTER RECIPIENT OF THE AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE IN COMMUNITY ACTION FROM THE COMMUNITY ACTION PARTNERSHIP, A NETWORK OF OVER 1000 ANTI-POVERTY COMMUNITY ACTION AGENCIES NATIONWIDE.

Whereas, Sunbelt Human Advancement Resources, Inc. (SHARE) is in its thirty-eighth year of "helping people and changing lives" in Greenville, Anderson, Oconee, and Pickens Counties; and

Whereas, SHARE works effectively with numerous agencies of the State of South Carolina to help people attain the goal of becoming self-sufficient; and

Whereas, SHARE has maintained a constant goal to better prepare families and communities for the 21st century and has proclaimed the theme of "The Community Action Partnership: Celebrating the Commitment to Excellence in Helping People and Changing Lives" for its annual Economic Opportunity Banquet on Thursday, May 20, 2004; and

Whereas, the featured speaker will be Mr. Derrick L. Span, National President/CEO of the Community Action Partnership; and

Whereas, SHARE Head Start was among the first ten Head Start programs in the nation to become recognized as a National Head Start Program of Excellence in 1999; and

Whereas, SHARE has selflessly worked for the betterment of families and communities throughout the Upstate in which it helps approximately 25,000 people each year in Greenville, Anderson, Oconee, and Pickens Counties. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the members of the Senate, by this resolution, commend and congratulate the Sunbelt Human Advancement Resources (SHARE) organization for being charter recipient of the Award for Excellence in Community Action from the Community Action Partnership, a network of over 1000 anti-poverty community action agencies nationwide.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Sunbelt Human Advancement Resources, Inc.
