A SENATE RESOLUTION

WELCOMING CHI ETA PHI SORORITY TO COLUMBIA, SOUTH CAROLINA, ON THE OCCASION OF ITS 50TH SOUTHEAST REGIONAL CONFERENCE AND THANKING THE MORE THAN FOUR HUNDRED NURSES IN ATTENDANCE FOR THEIR SERVICE TO HUMANITY.

Whereas, the Delta Eta Chapter of Chi Eta Phi is the host for more than four hundred nurses in attendance at the sorority's 50th Southeast Regional Conference in Columbia; and

Whereas, this sorority boasts international membership of men and women from various cultural and educational backgrounds; and

Whereas, this diverse group has a common goal of "Service for Humanity"; and

Whereas, the members are dedicated to achieving that goal through programs and activities that increase interest in the nursing profession and elevate the status of nursing; and

Whereas, these professional nurses and nursing students have made major contributions to the nursing profession since their organization in 1932; and

Whereas, the City of Columbia, Richland County, and the State of South Carolina are honored that they have chosen this site for their 50th Southeastern Conference. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the members of the South Carolina Senate, by this resolution, welcome Chi Eta Phi Sorority to Columbia, South Carolina, on the occasion of its 50th Southeast Regional Conference and thank the more than four hundred nurses in attendance for their service to humanity.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to the Chi Eta Phi Sorority.
