TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 1-3-226 SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT THE DIRECTOR OF A DEPARTMENT OF STATE GOVERNMENT APPOINTED BY THE GOVERNOR SHALL ACCEPT FULL COMPENSATION APPROPRIATED FOR THE POSITION AND MAY ONLY DONATE HIS NET PAY TO THE STATE.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Article 5, Chapter 3, Title 1 of the 1976 Code is amended by adding:
"Section 1-3-226. Notwithstanding any other provision of law, a director of a department of state government, as enumerated in Section 1-30-10, appointed by the Governor shall accept the full compensation appropriated for the position and may only donate his net pay to the State."
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
