TO RECOGNIZE LEROY MOSS OF RICHLAND COUNTY FOR HIS COMMITMENT TO THE EAU CLAIRE COMMUNITY AND OUTSTANDING VOLUNTEERISM, AND TO WISH HIM MUCH SUCCESS IN ALL OF HIS FUTURE ENDEAVORS.
Whereas, after finishing college, Mr. Leroy Moss was self-employed and ran his own business, which he later sold to work for the State of South Carolina; and
Whereas, Mr. Moss moved to the Eau Claire community and became heavily involved with community activities. He served as president of the Hyatt Park Community Organization, which works to improve conditions and restore the beauty to the historic community; and
Whereas, under the leadership of Mr. Moss, the organization built a multi-purpose building that was later named the Leroy Moss Multi-Purpose Center. A concession building was built under Mr. Moss' tenure and there were many community clean-up projects; and
Whereas, Mr. Moss led efforts to have a sidewalk installed in Lakeside, the light signal placed at Abingdon Road and Sunset Boulevard, and he spearheaded efforts to renovate the print building in the Eau Claire community; and
Whereas, the General Assembly is proud to recognize the many contributions made by Leroy Moss to the Eau Claire community, the city of Columbia, and the State of South Carolina. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:
That the members of the General Assembly, by this resolution, recognize Leroy Moss of Richland County for his commitment to the Eau Claire community and outstanding volunteerism, and wish him much success in all of his future endeavors.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Leroy Moss of Richland County.
