A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE KATE POULIOT OF SIMPSONVILLE ON PITCHING HER TWENTY-FIFTH SHUTOUT IN THIRTY-ONE GAMES AND RAISING HER OVERALL WIN STREAK TO FIFTY-TWO, TO COMMEND HER FOR HER HARD WORK AND DEDICATION, AND TO WISH HER MUCH SUCCESS IN ALL OF HER FUTURE ENDEAVORS.

Whereas, Kate Pouliot improved her winning streak to fifty-two with a victory over Spring Valley High School to advance Hillcrest High School to the Class AAAA Upper State Championship; and

Whereas, Miss Pouliot throws a fastball timed at sixty to sixty-two miles per hour, which is equivalent to a ninety mile per hour or better fastball in baseball; and

Whereas, in addition to an excellent fastball, Miss Pouliot can throw a drop, rise, curve, and change up. Coach Wooten, an assistant coach at Hillcrest, says that her location is her greatest strength; and

Whereas, Miss Pouliot has been pitching since the seventh grade and has started to give back by giving lessons to younger girls; and

Whereas, Miss Pouliot helped Hillcrest win a second straight state title and was the 2002 South Carolina Player of the Year. She hopes to play for the Southeastern Conference when she goes to college and the University of South Carolina is her top choice; and

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly are proud to honor Kate Pouliot on her outstanding performance as a pitcher for Hillcrest High School. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring;

That the members of the General Assembly, by this resolution, congratulate Kate Pouliot of Simpsonville on pitching her twenty-fifth shutout in thirty-one games and raising her overall win streak to fifty-two, commend her for her hard work and dedication, and wish her much success in all of her future endeavors.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Miss Pouliot.
