TO AMEND SECTION 7-3-20, AS AMENDED, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO THE POWERS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF THE STATE ELECTION COMMISSION, SO AS TO REQUIRE THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR TO HAVE POSTED ON THE WEBSITE OF THE COMMISSION A FILING AND ELECTION SCHEDULE FOR ALL ELECTIONS.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Section 7-3-20(C) of the 1976 Code, as last amended by Act 466 of 1996, is further amended by adding an item at the end to read:
"(12) publish on the website of the State Election Commission a schedule of all filing and election dates for all elective offices in this State, including the following information:
(a) candidate filing and closing dates;
(b) the last day to register to vote in a primary election;
(c) the primary date;
(d) the primary run-off date, if required;
(e) the last day to register to vote in a general election; and
(f) the election date."
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
