TO EXTEND THE CONGRATULATIONS OF THE MEMBERS OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA GENERAL ASSEMBLY TO THE CHRIST CHURCH EPISCOPAL SCHOOL VARSITY BOYS' SOCCER TEAM AND THE TEAM'S COACH, DAVID WILCOX, OF GREENVILLE, ON THEIR OUTSTANDING DETERMINATION AND HARD WORK THROUGHOUT THEIR SEASON AND ON CAPTURING THE 2003 CLASS A BOYS' SOCCER STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE ON SATURDAY, MAY 17, 2003.
Whereas, it is appropriate to recognize young athletes who excel in individual and team sports and whose skills lead their schools to championship titles; and
Whereas, to become soccer champions, every member of the team and the coaching staff must have special leadership skills and athletic abilities; and
Whereas, using those talents, Coach David Wilcox, Assistant Coach Russell Shelley, Assistant Coach Frank Kucinic, and the members of the Christ Church Episcopal School Varsity Boys' Soccer Team of Greenville played games throughout their season with determination and precision to become the best soccer team in their division; and
Whereas, with every team members' enthusiasm and hard work and with the direction of Coach Wilcox, the Christ Church Episcopal School Varsity Boys' Soccer Team played rigorously to become the 2003 Class A Boys' Soccer State Champions, in the championship game at Memorial Stadium in Columbia; and
Whereas, the members of this exceptional team are Rhett McCraw, Daniel Oettl, Fletcher McCraw, Zay Kittredge, Batten Farrar, Penn Ely, Artie Howson, Scott Burgess Tomek Charowski, Graham Moseley, Chris Prince, Jake Hendrickson, Adriaan Bouwer, Clark Brandt, Justin Ouimette, Bobby McCall, Matt Theisen, and Daniel Holman; and
Whereas, it is with great pleasure that we recognize the physical and mental abilities of these young South Carolinians and wish these athletes much success in their future endeavors. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:
That the members of the South Carolina General Assembly, by this resolution, extend their congratulations to the Christ Church Episcopal School Varsity Boys' Soccer Team and the team's coach, David Wilcox, of Greenville, on their outstanding determination and hard work throughout their season and on capturing the 2003 Class A Boys' Soccer State Championship Title on Saturday, May 17, 2003.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the members of the Christ Church Episcopal School Varsity Boys' Soccer Team and Coach David Wilcox of Greenville.
