TO EXTEND THE CONGRATULATIONS OF THE MEMBERS OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA GENERAL ASSEMBLY TO THE CHRIST CHURCH EPISCOPAL SCHOOL SAT TEAM OF GREENVILLE FOR THEIR HARD WORK AND RECENT ACCOMPLISHMENTS, INCLUDING BEING NAMED 2003 CLASS A STATE CHAMPIONS.
Whereas, excelling in academic competition is of great importance to the people of South Carolina and the members of the General Assembly; and
Whereas, the members are particularly proud of young people when they use their youthful brainpower to achieve goals and demonstrate to the rest of the country the educational gains that this State has had in recent years; and
Whereas, the members of the Christ Church Episcopal School SAT Team of Greenville used their intellectual power and competitive spirit to become champions; and
Whereas, the team members accomplished their common goal by scoring higher than almost every other school in the State at each level of the competition and becoming the Class A State Champions, joining Christ Church Episcopal School championship teams of 2000, 2001, and 2002; and
Whereas, the members of the Christ Church Episcopal School SAT Team include Charles Nathan Adair, Daniel Amato, Janet Ashton Butler, Katherine Elizabeth Hicks, Meagan Ashley Hicks, Michael Garrett Larson, Myrie Hans Lehner, Rhett Franklin McCraw, Christina Lee McLane, Stephanie Allison Nickell, and Charlotte Melton Pool; and
Whereas, the members of the General Assembly wish these talented young people much success in their future endeavors. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:
That the members of the General Assembly extend their congratulations to the Christ Church Episcopal School SAT Team of Greenville for their hard work and recent accomplishments, including being named the Class A State Champions for 2003.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Christ Church Episcopal School and the members of the SAT Team of Greenville.
