A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

CONGRATULATING THE CHRIST CHURCH EPISCOPAL SCHOOL GIRLS' TENNIS TEAM AND HEAD COACH SALLY SHURTZ ON WINNING THE 2002 A-AA STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE.

Whereas, the Christ Church Episcopal School Girls' Tennis Team captured the 2002 A-AA State Championship Title by defeating Bishop England; and

Whereas, this championship title is the Girls' Tennis Team's sixth in the school's history; and

Whereas, led by Coach Sally Shurtz, the Christ Church Episcopal School Girls' Championship Team included: Molly Willett, Lauren Willett, Anne Carter Hughes, Ashley Page, Amanda Gavron, Kristen Demosthenes, Jerah Sowinski, Taite Quinn, Charlotte Pool, and Lindsey Granville; and

Whereas, the countless hours of practice, hard work, and sacrifices reflect the Christ Church Episcopal School Girls' Tennis Team's determination to be the very best; and

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly would like to publicly recognize and congratulate each player, coach, and school official upon the completion of a remarkable season with a record of eighteen wins and two losses. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, congratulate the Christ Church Episcopal School Girls' Tennis Team, and Head Coach Sally Shurtz on capturing its sixth State Championship Title.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Coach Sally Shurtz on behalf of the Christ Church Episcopal School Girls' Tennis Team.
