TO RECOGNIZE AND CONGRATULATE KYLE MITCHELL WAY OF WALTERBORO FOR OBTAINING THE ELITE RANK OF EAGLE SCOUT WITH THE BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA AND TO EXTEND BEST WISHES TO HIM IN ALL OF HIS FUTURE ENDEAVORS.
Whereas, participating in the Boy Scouts of America Organization requires dedication and commitment to achieving greatness and promotes community fellowship; and
Whereas, to achieve the rank of Eagle Scout is a tremendous honor that very few boy scouts ever attain and is recognized as one of the most prestigious awards that a young man can earn; and
Whereas, since joining the Boy Scouts of America in September of 1998, Kyle Mitchell Way has held numerous leadership positions in his local Boy Scout Troop 686 such as Patrol Leader, Senior Patrol Leader, Quartermaster, and Junior Assistant Scoutmaster; and
Whereas, the son of James Harold Way of Walterboro, Kyle Way has earned the "God & Country" religious award and he is a member of the Order of the Arrow, the brotherhood of Scouting; and
Whereas, Kyle has earned over forty merit badges including twenty-one that are required for the rank of Eagle Scout, which he achieved on February 4, 2004; and
Whereas, a junior at Colleton County High School where he has been a member of the NJROTC unit for three years, Kyle Way currently serves on the armed drill team, and it is his striking leadership qualities and commitment to service that earned him the esteemed rank of Eagle Scout; and
Whereas, Kyle Mitchell Way of Walterboro will be presented with the rank of Eagle Scout at the Court of Honor on Saturday, May 1, 2004, and he has been an inspiration and leader to his fellow scouts in Troop 686. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:
That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, recognize and congratulate Kyle Mitchell Way of Walterboro for obtaining the elite rank of Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of America and extend best wishes to him in all of his future endeavors.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Kyle Mitchell Way of Walterboro.
