A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO HONOR AND CONGRATULATE ALBERT BOYD WEEKS OF COLLETON COUNTY ON BEING AWARDED THE RANK OF EAGLE SCOUT BY THE BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA ON MARCH 3, 2001, AND TO EXTEND BEST WISHES TO HIM IN ALL OF HIS FUTURE ENDEAVORS.

Whereas, to achieve the rank of Eagle Scout requires hard work and extreme determination, yet the achievement is a great honor for those who attain it; and

Whereas, Albert Boyd Weeks, the son of Boyd and Ki Weeks, was awarded the rank of Eagle Scout in a court of honor on March 3, 2001, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Walterboro; and

Whereas, a member of Troop 686 which is sponsored by the Bethel Methodist Church in Walterboro, Mr. Weeks is also a 2000 graduate of Walterboro High School, where he was a member of the National Honor Society; and

Whereas, upon graduation from Walterboro High School, Mr. Weeks served a two-year church mission in Sacramento, California. He is currently attending Brigham Young University-Idaho with intentions of pursuing a major in business finance; and

Whereas, on his route to becoming an Eagle Scout, Mr. Weeks organized a group of youths in landscaping a portion of the property at the LDS church to solve a drainage problem; and

Whereas, in addition to his Eagle Scout project, Mr. Weeks has earned forty-six merit badges and was a member of the Order of the Arrow; and

Whereas, Albert Weeks has lived his life in service to others and his efforts and achievements make South Carolina proud to call this young man one of its own. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, honor and congratulate Albert Boyd Weeks on being awarded the rank of Eagle Scout by the Boy Scouts of America on March 3, 2001, and extend best wishes to him in all of his future endeavors.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Albert Weeks of Colleton County.
