A SENATE RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE THE LOWCOUNTRY DAY SCHOOL BOYS SOCCER TEAM OF GEORGETOWN COUNTY ON ITS IMPRESSIVE WIN OF THE 2005 SOUTH CAROLINA INDEPENDENT SCHOOLS ASSOCIATION CLASS A STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE, AND TO HONOR THE PLAYERS AND THEIR COACHES, GARY GATES AND DANNY BELL, ON AN EXCEPTIONAL SEASON.

Whereas, excelling in soccer demands individual strength, agility, and skill, as well as team play and good sportsmanship; and

Whereas, using those talents and attributes, Coaches Gary Gates and Danny Bell and the members of the Lowcountry Day School Boys Soccer Team finished an incredible season by winning the 2005 SCISA Class A State Championship; and

Whereas, sheer greatness is nothing new to the team, as they make winning look almost effortless with their poise and strength as athletes in bringing home the second consecutive state title; and

Whereas, the team was led by two seniors, Brent Cohn and Brooks Patrick. The other outstanding players were Cooper Lammonds, Victor Diaz, Adam Ayers, David Culliton, Justin Smith, Stephen Cassel, Allston LaBruce, Rob Henry, Kris Brame, Marsh Deane, Mac Getz, Allston Lumpkin, Pud Ivey, Carson Young, Julianna Fisher, and Constitine Christ; and

Whereas, the championship win and storybook 2005 season were only possible through the relentless hard work and dedication of the players, coaches, and trainers; and

Whereas, it is with great pride that the members of the South Carolina Senate commend the team for the many hours of blood, sweat, and tears given in love of the sport and wish its players continued success in future competitions. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the members of the Senate of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, congratulate the Lowcountry Day School Boys Soccer Team of Georgetown County on its impressive win of the 2005 South Carolina Independent Schools Association Class A State Championship Title and honor the players and their coaches, Gary Gates and Danny Bell, on an exceptional season.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to the players, coaches, and school officials of the Lowcountry Day School Boys Soccer Team on the Senate floor at a date and time to be determined by the President Pro Tempore of the Senate.
