A SENATE RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR TROY NOBLES OF AIKEN COUNTY FOR HIS OUTSTANDING COMMITMENT AND DEDICATION TO THE EDUCATION OF SOUTH CAROLINA'S YOUTH, AND TO WISH HIM ALL THE BEST UPON HIS RETIREMENT.

Whereas, it is with great pleasure that the South Carolina Senate recognizes South Carolinians who selflessly give their time and energy in developing young minds in their communities; and

Whereas, it is appropriate to recognize the great achievements of those who teach and encourage these individuals who continue to inspire children year after year; and

Whereas, Troy Nobles, Area 3 Assistant Superintendent of the Consolidated School District of Aiken County, truly deserves such distinction, as he has helped to shape countless lives in his incredible forty-four year career in education; and

Whereas, a devoted family man, Mr. Nobles shares a loving marriage with his wife, Jeanene, and adores his two daughters and two grandchildren; and

Whereas, Mr. Nobles began his teaching career in 1962 at Leavelle-McCampbell High School. By 1966 he was named assistant principal, and the following year he became principal of the school; and

Whereas, his outstanding leadership skills led the school district to name him Principal of the new Midland Valley High School in 1980, and six years later Mr. Nobles was again promoted in becoming Area 2 Assistant Superintendent; and

Whereas, dedicating himself entirely to the success of the school district, its teachers and students, Mr. Nobles spent the final twenty years of his career in education serving first as Director of Area 1 Administration and Operations, and then as Area 3 Assistant Superintendent; and

Whereas, a member of the First Baptist Church of Langley, he serves as a Deacon and as the College and Career Class Sunday School teacher; and

Whereas, recognized for his outstanding work in the public school system and in his community, Mr. Nobles received Midland Valley Area Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year Award in 2001; and

Whereas, Mr. Nobles remains as dedicated to his students and to the furtherance of public education as he was when he began his career as an educator over forty years ago, and the students of the Consolidated School District of Aiken County and the surrounding community are fortunate to have him in their lives. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the members of the South Carolina Senate, by this resolution, recognize and honor Troy Nobles of Aiken County for his outstanding commitment and dedication to the education of South Carolina's youth, and wish him all the best upon his retirement.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mr. Troy Nobles.
