A BILL

TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 16-17-507 SO AS TO REQUIRE A PERSON WHO SELLS TOBACCO PRODUCTS TO KEEP THESE PRODUCTS BEHIND A COUNTER AND CONCEALED SO AS TO BE OUT OF VIEW FROM A CUSTOMER OR PATRON.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION    1.    Chapter 17, Title 16 of the 1976 Code is amended by adding:

"Section 16-17-507.    A person who sells tobacco products including, but not limited to, cigarettes, cigars, tobacco, and cigarette papers shall keep these tobacco products behind a counter so as to be out of view from a customer or patron."

SECTION    2.    This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
