A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZE AND COMMEND GRACE WILLIS OF GREENVILLE COUNTY ON THE OCCASION OF HER ONE-HUNDRED AND FIFTH BIRTHDAY.

Whereas, the members of the House of Representatives were delighted to learn that Grace Willis of Greenville County will celebrate her one-hundred and fifth birthday on January 29, 2005; and

Whereas, she has been a proud resident of South Carolina since her arrival in 1923, approximately eighty-two years ago; and

Whereas, Grace Willis has enjoyed countless blessings throughout her many years. Her proudest accomplishment is becoming the matriarch of such a large and loving family; and

Whereas, she has been a proud mother to four wonderful children; and

Whereas, Grace Willis is also able to boast, as she is often known to do, about her seven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and nineteen great great grandchildren, including one more that is on the way.

Whereas, she has been a much admired fixture of the Greenville County community; and

Whereas, throughout her entire life she has been a faithful and active member of Tremont Church of God in Greenville; and

Whereas, Grace Willis is loved and respected by many in her community and the members of the House of Representatives are proud to honor her on this meaningful occasion. Now therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, recognize and commend Grace Willis of Greenville County on the occasion of her one-hundred and fifth birthday.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Grace Willis.
