A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO HONOR AND RECOGNIZE M. LEE MCCALL OF SUMTER COUNTY FOR HIS OUTSTANDING SERVICE TO THE SOUTH CAROLINA DEPARTMENT OF VOCATIONAL REHABILITATION UPON THE OCCASION OF HIS RETIREMENT AND TO EXTEND TO HIM BEST WISHES IN ALL HIS FUTURE ENDEAVORS.

Whereas, it is with great pleasure that the South Carolina House of Representatives honors those individuals who give of themselves for the good of their individual communities as public servants, making the State of South Carolina a better place to live; and

Whereas, Mr. McCall has dedicated his entire thirty-year career to serving others, committed to the betterment of the lives of those with disabilities; and

Whereas, beginning his career as a Counselor I in 1975, Mr. McCall was quickly promoted to Counselor II in 1978, and further served as a Special Services Coordinator in 1988 and as Center Manager in 2000; and

Whereas, in 2002, Mr. McCall became Area Supervisor for the South Carolina Department of Vocational Rehabilitation, a position from which he will retire in 2005; and

Whereas, Mr. McCall's efforts on behalf of the people whom he served did not go unnoticed, as he was awarded the Job Placement Award in 1983 and the Special Achievement Award in 1984; and

Whereas, earning both state and national honors for his work, Mr. McCall was the South Carolina President of the National Rehabilitation Association, Job Placement Division, and for the Southeast Region in 1984, and won the Sumter Area Professional of the Year Award in 1988, the Job Placement Division Award in 1985, and the Counselor of the Year Award for the Sumter area in 1981; and

Whereas, it is with great pleasure that the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives pause to recognize the many and varied contributions of this dedicated public servant. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, honor and recognize M. Lee McCall of Sumter County for his outstanding service to the South Carolina Department of Rehabilitation on the occasion of his retirement and extend to him best wishes in all his future endeavors.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mr. M. Lee McCall.
