A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE THE BROOME HIGH SCHOOL LADY CENTURIONS GIRLS BASKETBALL TEAM FOR ITS OUTSTANDING WIN OF THE CLASS AA STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE, AND TO HONOR THE PLAYERS AND COACH SHARON DILLON ON AN EXCEPTIONAL SEASON.

Whereas, excellence in basketball demands individual strength, agility, and skill, as well as team play and good sportsmanship; and

Whereas, using those talents and attributes, Coach Sharon Dillon and the members of the Broome High School Girls Basketball Team finished an incredible season by winning the Class AA State Championship; and

Whereas, defeating the Andrews Lady Yellow Jackets in the final game, players stayed calm and focused through a close game, pushing through a tough competition with grace and skill; and

Whereas, the hard-fought victory was truly a team effort, as players poured all of themselves into securing the win for their school; and

Whereas, standouts Kianna Smith, Seneca Turner, Victoria Tucker, Caroline Moss, and Whitney Gist made the game look easy, scoring hosts of points and making truly incredible plays; and

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives take great pride in commending the young women of the Broome High School Lady Centurions Basketball Team for their tireless efforts and great determination in an outstanding season and recognize them as veritable model student athletes. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, congratulate the Broome High School Lady Centurions Girls Basketball Team for its outstanding win of the Class AA State Championship Title, and honor the players and Coach Sharon Dillon on an exceptional season.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to the players, coaches, and school officials of the Broome High School Lady Centurions Girls Basketball Team on the House Floor at a date and time to be determined by the Speaker.
