A HOUSE RESOLUTION

CONGRATULATING THE HILTON HEAD PREP DOLPHINS GIRLS BASKETBALL TEAM ON WINNING THE SOUTH CAROLINA INDEPENDENT SCHOOLS ASSOCIATION CLASS AAA STATE CHAMPIONSHIP AND HONORING THE PLAYERS AND COACHES FOR A TRULY EXCEPTIONAL SEASON.

Whereas, the members of the House of Representatives were pleased to learn that the Hilton Head Prep Dolphins Girls Basketball Team won the South Carolina Independent Schools Association Class AAA Girls Basketball championship by defeating a determined Northwood Academy team, itself seeking to cap an outstanding season; and

Whereas, while both teams fought hard for the win, and despite an extraordinary exhibition by Northwood superstar Ashley Scott, the Dolphins hung on to win the championship 52-48, with Hilton Head Prep's standout Alexandria Fuller scoring the bucket to put her team ahead and iced the win with two free throws; and

Whereas, the young women comprising their winning team and their head coach, Dr. Bob Sulek, in this winning effort put the capstone on a truly outstanding 29-2 record; and

Whereas, in this championship victory and in this extraordinary season, the Dolphin players and their able coaches have brought deserved credit not only upon themselves and their school, but on the greater community as well; and

Whereas, the members of the House of Representative by this resolution take delight in publicly recognizing and congratulating this talented group of young women upon the occasion of their winning this well-deserved championship. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the House of Representatives congratulate the Hilton Head Prep Dolphins Girls Basketball Team on winning the South Carolina Independent Schools Association Class AAA state championship and honor the players and coaches for a truly exceptional season.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to the Hilton Head Prep Dolphins Girls Basketball Team.
