A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR SANDRA MILFORD OF ABBEVILLE COUNTY FOR HER OUTSTANDING COMMITMENT AND DEDICATION TO THE EDUCATION OF SOUTH CAROLINA'S YOUTH, AND TO WISH HER ALL THE BEST UPON HER RETIREMENT.

Whereas, it is with great pleasure that we recognize South Carolinians who selflessly give their time and energy in developing young minds; and

Whereas, it is appropriate to recognize the great achievements of those who teach and to encourage these individuals who continue to inspire children year after year; and

Whereas, Sandy Milford, a teacher at Long Cane Elementary School in Abbeville County, truly deserves such recognition, as she has helped to shape countless lives in her rich thirty-three year career in education; and

Whereas, encouraging her young first grade students to express their creativity and to seek answers to their many questions, Mrs. Milford empowers all who are in her care to achieve their full potential; and

Whereas, patient and kind, Mrs. Milford shows great respect for her students and leads by example in teaching life lessons that her children will carry with them throughout their lives; and

Whereas, countless students who have gone on to pursue their own careers and lives are thankful for Mrs. Milford's thoughtful instruction, and often describe her as one of their favorite teachers; and

Whereas, a valued and trusted colleague, Mrs. Milford has served as a mentor for other teachers at Long Cane Elementary and has been selected as the Teacher of the Year numerous times; and

Whereas, Mrs. Milford remains as dedicated to her students and to the furtherance of public education as she was when she began her career as an educator over thirty years ago, and the students of Long Cane Elementary and the surrounding Abbeville community are fortunate to have her in their lives. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the South Carolina General Assembly, by this resolution, recognize and honor Sandra Milford of Abbeville County for her outstanding commitment and dedication to the education of South Carolina's youth and wish her all the best upon her retirement.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be provided to Mrs. Sandy Milford.
