A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO HONOR DR. IVORY TUCKER, SR. FOR HIS DEDICATED SERVICE TO THE LORD AND SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST IN THE MINISTRY AND TO RECOGNIZE HIS TWO-YEAR ANNIVERSARY AS THE PASTOR AT OAKMAN BRANCH MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH IN WALTERBORO, SOUTH CAROLINA.

Whereas, it is appropriate for the South Carolina House of Representatives to honor those individuals who give so much towards the furtherance of the Christian faith; and

Whereas, Dr. Ivory Tucker is certainly one such South Carolinian worthy of recognition as he has served in the ministry over the last twelve years helping to shape the spiritual lives of so many. Dr. Tucker is currently celebrating his second anniversary as Pastor of Oakman Branch Missionary Baptist Church in Walterboro; and

Whereas, born in Leland, Mississippi, he is the son of Mrs. Lula B. Tucker and the late Reverend W. M. Tucker, Sr.; and

Whereas, Dr. Tucker graduated from the International Overcomer College of Religion in Columbia with a Doctorate in Theology; and

Whereas, he served as Pastor of New Genesis Baptist Church in Columbia before becoming Pastor of Oakman Branch Missionary Baptist Church in Walterboro; and

Whereas, over the past twelve years, he has accomplished a great deal through his ministry. He served as a chairman of the Deacon Board, director of Williams University of Winnsboro, was an instructor of a Bible Seminary in Columbia, was one of the youngest moderators in the State for St. Peters Overcoming Baptist Association, and was selected as Pastor of the Year in 2002 in this association; and

Whereas, Rev. Dr. Tucker currently serves as pastor of one of the largest churches in the Lovely Hill Field, and his ministry has significantly impacted the Lowcountry Community in a special way; and

Whereas, it is with great pride and admiration that the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives pause to recognize the noble life's work of Dr. Ivory Tucker, Sr. and thank him for dedicating his life to the Glory of God and touching the lives of so many along the way. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, honor Dr. Ivory Tucker, Sr. for his dedicated service to the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in the ministry and recognize his two-year anniversary as the Pastor at Oakman Branch Missionary Baptist Church in Walterboro, South Carolina.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Dr. Ivory Tucker, Sr.
