A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE THE RIVERSIDE HIGH SCHOOL "LADY WARRIORS" SWIM TEAM OF GREENVILLE COUNTY ON ITS MOST IMPRESSIVE CAPTURE OF THE CLASS AAA STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE AND TO RECOGNIZE THE SWIMMERS AND THEIR COACH, EDDIE HUGHES, ON A SENSATIONAL SEASON.

Whereas, the members of the House of Representatives are pleased to learn that the Riverside High School girls swim team won the Class AAA State Championship; and

Whereas, swimming is a competitive sport that requires the combination of both individual talent and teamwork as well as discipline and sportsmanship; and

Whereas, the Lady Warriors demonstrated the key attributes of a true championship caliber swim team by competing well in the individual and relay events and earning the rights to be crowned the 2006 Class AAA State Champions; and

Whereas, Coach Hughes imparted his belief in their ability and guided the team all season long by pushing the girls enough and encouraging them daily so that they could be conditioned and prepared to swim their best; and

Whereas, the members of the 2006 Lady Warriors State Championship swim team included: Madison Allen, Kaitlyn Carter, Katherine Evatt, Emily Hotz, Molly Graves, Elizabeth Greenway, Courtney Harrison, Heather Higgins, Erin Jamieson, Vida Jemec, Alexa Kurtz, Mallory Mitchell, Kayla Noonan, Clare Sweeney, Jocelyn Smith, Stephanie Smith, Taylor Tompkins, and Emily Whitaker; and

Whereas, the members of the House of Representatives, by this resolution, would like to publicly recognize and congratulate the this magnificent group of talented young women upon the occasion of their winning the state championship. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, congratulate the Riverside High School "Lady Warriors" swim team of Greenville County on its most impressive capture of the Class AAA State Championship title and recognize the swimmers and their coach, Eddie Hughes, on a sensational season.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be provided to the swimmers, coaches, and school officials of the Riverside High School girls swim team.
