A SENATE RESOLUTION

TO HONOR AND RECOGNIZE REBECCA FLEMING FOR HER EXTRAORDINARY EFFORTS AS AN OUTSTANDING PUBLIC SERVANT, MOST RECENTLY AS AN EMPLOYEE OF THE OFFICE OF LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR ANDRÉ BAUER, AND TO EXTEND TO HER BEST WISHES IN ALL FUTURE ENDEAVORS.

Whereas, it is with great pleasure that the Senate of South Carolina honors those individuals who give of themselves for the good of their individual communities as public servants, making our State a better place to live; and

Whereas, Rebecca Fleming is such a person. She is a Lancaster native and a University of South Carolina graduate; and

Whereas, Becky broke away from her South Carolina roots to explore the inner workings of the federal government while serving as Press Secretary for the late Senator Strom Thurmond in Washington, D.C. for five years; and

Whereas, maintaining a desire for public service, Rebecca returned to South Carolina to work in the office of Lieutenant Governor Andre Bauer, where she has worked tirelessly for the past year, always mindful of the betterment of South Carolina as a whole; and

Whereas, while Becky will be sorely missed as she leaves to explore the private sector, the members of the Senate are sure that she will continue to do good works and display her constant grace, dignity, and wisdom in whatever endeavors she undertakes. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the members of the South Carolina Senate, by this resolution, honor and recognize Rebecca Fleming for her extraordinary efforts as an outstanding public servant, most recently as an employee of the Office of Lieutenant Governor André Bauer, and extend to her best wishes in all future endeavors.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Rebecca Fleming.
