A SENATE RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZE THE BIBLE WAY CHURCH OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST, WORLD WIDE, INCORPORATED AS IT HOLDS ITS 2005 INTERNATIONAL CONVOCATION IN THE CITY OF COLUMBIA, SOUTH CAROLINA, FROM JULY 24 TO JULY 30, AND TO WISH ITS HOSTS, THE SOUTH CAROLINA DIOCESE, BISHOP THEODORE R. MYERS AND FIRST LADY NAN MYERS, AND THE MEETING'S PARTICIPANTS MUCH SUCCESS AS THEY GATHER TO STRENGTHEN THEIR COMMITMENT TO THE READING, TEACHING, AND PREACHING OF THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST.

Whereas, the Bible Way Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ, World Wide, Incorporated was founded in September 1957 in Washington, D.C.; and

Whereas, its initial founders were Bishop Smallwood E. Williams, Bishop John S. Beane, Bishop Winfield Showell, Bishop Joseph Moore, and Bishop McKinley Williams; and

Whereas, the Bible Way Church World Wide has more than two hundred fifty churches in the continental United States. It also has congregations in the United Kingdom, India, Canada, Jamaica, Trinidad, and the continents of Africa and South America; and

Whereas, the goal of Bible Way is to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ throughout the world, and minister to the whole man with a message of helping all men and women physically, mentally, and spiritually; and

Whereas, it has come to the attention of the members of the Senate that the church will hold its 2005 International Convocation in the City of Columbia in July; and

Whereas, the hosts for this meeting are the South Carolina Diocese and Bishop Theodore R. Myers, Bishop for the State of South Carolina and his wife, First Lady Nan Myers. The Diocese Bishop Emeritus is Bishop Andrew C. Jackson; and

Whereas, it is fitting and proper for the members of the Senate to pause in their deliberations to recognize Bible Way's nearly fifty years of service to mankind as it holds it 2005 International Convocation in the Palmetto State. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the members of the Senate of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, recognize the Bible Way Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ, World Wide, Incorporated as it holds its 2005 International Convocation in the City of Columbia, South Carolina from July 24th to July 30th, and wish its hosts, the South Carolina Diocese, Bishop Theodore R. Myers and First Lady Nan Myers, and the meeting's participants much success as they gather to strengthen their commitment to the reading, teaching, and preaching of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Bishop Theodore R. Myers on behalf of the Bible Way Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ, World Wide, Incorporated.
