The House assembled at 10:00 a.m.
Deliberations were opened with prayer by Rev. Charles E. Seastrunk, Jr. as follows:

Our thought for today is from I Corinthians 1:25: "God's weakness is stronger than human strength."
Let us pray. Almighty God, source of our strength, be present with us this day as we work for the betterment of this State. Give us the strength, the power, and the will to accomplish those tasks set before us. Guard, guide, and keep us safe in Your care. Look with approval upon our Nation, President, our State and her leaders. Defend and protect our troops, especially those in harms way. In Your Holy name we pray. Amen.

After corrections to the Journal of the proceedings of yesterday, the SPEAKER ordered it confirmed.
