TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 1-1-672 SO AS TO PROVIDE A PROCEDURE FOR THE DISPOSAL OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA STATE FLAG.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Article 9, Chapter 1, Title 1 of the 1976 Code is amended by adding:
"Section 1-1-672. The flag of South Carolina, when it is not in a condition that it becomes a fitting emblem for display, must be destroyed in a dignified manner. The preferable way to destroy the South Carolina State Flag is by burning at a dignified public flag disposal ceremony."
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
