To whom was referred a Joint Resolution (H. 3895) to approve regulations of the Department of Public Safety, relating to Motorist Insurance Identification Database Regulations (repeal), designated as Regulation Document Number 2955, pursuant to the provisions, etc., respectfully

REPORT:

Has polled the Joint Resolution out majority favorable.

A JOINT RESOLUTION

TO APPROVE REGULATIONS OF THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY, RELATING TO MOTORIST INSURANCE IDENTIFICATION DATABASE REGULATIONS (REPEAL), DESIGNATED AS REGULATION DOCUMENT NUMBER 2955, PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF ARTICLE 1, CHAPTER 23, TITLE 1 OF THE 1976 CODE.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION    1.    The regulations of the Department of Public Safety, relating to Motorist Insurance Identification Database Regulations (Repeal), designated as Regulation Document Number 2955, and submitted to the General Assembly pursuant to the provisions of Article 1, Chapter 23, Title 1 of the 1976 Code, are approved.

SECTION    2.    This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.

SUMMARY AS SUBMITTED

BY PROMULGATING AGENCY.

The responsibility for administering the provisions of the South Carolina Automobile Liability Insurance Reporting System now falls under the Department of Motor Vehicles. The Department of Motor Vehicles is currently publishing new regulations on this matter under their regulation chapter (Chapter 90).
