A HOUSE RESOLUTION

EXPRESSING THE GRATITUDE AND APPRECIATION OF THE MEMBERS OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES TO MR. CHARLES LEWIS, ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL AT BELTON-HONEA PATH HIGH SCHOOL, FOR HIS EXEMPLARY CAREER IN EDUCATION AND PUBLIC SERVICE TO THE CITIZENS OF THE STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA, AND EXTEND TO HIM VERY BEST WISHES FOR A LONG AND FULFILLING RETIREMENT.

Whereas, with mixed emotions, the members of the House of Representatives have learned that Mr. Charles Lewis is retiring as assistant principal of Belton-Honea Path High School; and

Whereas, Charles Lewis began his career as a teacher in 1972, after receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from South Carolina State University; he went on to receive his Masters of Education in School Administration from South Carolina State University in 1976; and

Whereas, in 1992, Mr. Lewis became the assistant principal for Belton-Honea Path, where he is beloved for his dedication to the students, his enthusiasm and avid support for all athletics, and his commitment to serving with compassion and integrity; and

Whereas, Charles Lewis is a devoted father and a faithful, active member of his church and has served with distinction as a Trustee for South Carolina State University since 1981. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, express their gratitude and appreciation to Mr. Charles Lewis, assistant principal at Belton-Honea Path High School, for his exemplary career in education and public service to the citizens of the State of South Carolina and extend best wishes to him for a long and happy retirement.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mr. Charles Lewis.
