TO HONOR AND RECOGNIZE DR. JAN H. POSTMA, ORTHOPEDIC SURGEON OF SPARTANBURG COUNTY, FOR HIS OUTSTANDING COMMITMENT TO THE FIELD OF MEDICINE AND HIS EXCEPTIONAL CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE LIVES OF HIS PATIENTS AND HIS COMMUNITY.
Whereas, it is with great pleasure that the South Carolina General Assembly recognizes those South Carolinians who go above and beyond in both their personal and professional lives to bring comfort, care, and peace of mind to those with whom they come into contact; and
Whereas, Dr. Jan Postma is one such South Carolinian, as he gives tirelessly of himself in every aspect of his life; and
Whereas, as an Orthopedic Surgeon, Dr. Postma encounters countless patients who are often frightened and in considerable pain, but his extraordinary bedside manner and soothing demeanor calm his patients so that they may recover quickly; and
Whereas, a loving family man, Dr. Postma is married to Sara Lynn Postma and both are the proud parents of three children, Jan III, Will, and Elizabeth Postma; and
Whereas, though extraordinarily busy, Dr. Postma still finds time to serve the greater Spartanburg community, as he acts as the University of South Carolina Upstate's Team Orthopedist; and
Whereas, Dr. Postma is greatly aided by his equally outstanding assistant, Janet Lawter, CST, who provides great comfort to the patients and support to Dr. Postma; and
Whereas, the South Carolina General Assembly is proud to know such a humble, hard-working citizen and expects to see him working for further good in the Spartanburg community in the future. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:
That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, honor and recognize Dr. Jan H. Postma, Orthopedic Surgeon of Spartanburg County, for his outstanding commitment to the field of medicine and his exceptional contributions to the lives of his patients and his community.
