VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
RECOGNIZING AND CONGRATULATING MEGAN RADVANSKY OF MYRTLE BEACH ON BEING CROWNED MISS SUN FUN 2007 AND WISHING HER MUCH SUCCESS IN HER REIGN AND IN ALL HER FUTURE ENDEAVORS.
Whereas, Megan Radvansky of Myrtle Beach was crowned Miss Sun Fun 2007 at Myrtle Beach Pavilion's "The Attic" on Friday, June 2, 2006; and
Whereas, the Miss Sun Fun Pageant, sponsored by the Myrtle Beach Chamber of Commerce, is held annually during the Sun Fun Festival, which attracts locals and tourists and showcases, among other events, a parade, a jet-ski competition, a Guinness World Records "World's Tallest Sandcastle" competition, and other beach activities; and
Whereas, Miss Sun Fun 2007, Megan Radvansky, is a native of Lugoff but has found a home on the South Carolina coast; and
Whereas, this amazing young lady while a resident of Richland County was also named Teen Miss South Carolina and during her reign as Teen Miss South Carolina toured the State in furtherance of her platform for seat belt usage, speaking to student and adult groups alike to educate them on the importance of wearing seat belts because she suffered the loss of her older brother, Chad, to a single-car accident in which he was not wearing his seat belt; and
Whereas, having both intelligence and good looks, Megan is a student at Costal Carolina University, where she is majoring in communications and planning to pursue a career in public relations; and
Whereas, she hopes to prove through her own example that any goal is possible through continuous hard work and self-belief; and
Whereas, as Miss Sun Fun 2007, Megan will represent Myrtle Beach at events throughout South Carolina, the nation, and the world. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate:
That the members of the South Carolina Senate, by this resolution recognize and congratulate Megan Radvansky of Myrtle Beach on being crowned Miss Sun Fun 2007 and wish her much success in her reign and in all her future endeavors.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Megan Radvansky.
