VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
TO AMEND SECTION 40-22-225, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR LICENSURE AS A LAND SURVEYOR, SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT A PERSON WHO HAS NOT SATISFACTORILY COMPLIED WITH AN EDUCATION REQUIREMENT OR AN EXAMINATION REQUIRED FOR LICENSURE AS A PROFESSIONAL LAND SURVEYOR IN THIS STATE MAY PETITION THE BOARD OF REGISTRATION FOR PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERS AND LAND SURVEYORS.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Section 40-22-225 of the 1976 Code, as added by Act 311 of 2000, is amended by adding an appropriately lettered subsection to read:
"( ) Notwithstanding another provision of law, a person who has not satisfactorily complied with an education requirement or an examination required for licensure and registration as a professional land surveyor under this chapter may petition the board for an evaluation of his qualifications for licensure and registration as a professional land surveyor based on his relevant practical experience."
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
