VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
TO HONOR AND RECOGNIZE THE SILVER BLUFF HIGH SCHOOL NAVY RESERVE OFFICER TRAINING CORPS FOR ITS OUTSTANDING WIN OF THE 2007 NJROTC RIFLE TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP AND TO WISH THE TEAM MEMBERS AND THEIR INSTRUCTORS ALL THE BEST IN FUTURE COMPETITION.
Whereas, participation in the Navy Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (NJROTC) demands honor, courage, and commitment, as well as great strength, diligence, and follow-through; and
Whereas, members of the Silver Bluff NJROTC and their instructors, Chief Charles Neighbors and LCDR Ronald Freeman, showed both fans and foes that the team was a force to be reckoned with, dominating the state competition of twenty-two schools held at White Knoll High School in Lexington, South Carolina; and
Whereas, the NJROTC Rifle Team was led by two dynamic student leaders, Rifle Commanders Mary Guest and Daniel Guest; and
Whereas, integral to the team's success, other valuable team members included Patrick Boatwright and Brittany Riley; and
Whereas, it is with great pride that the House of Representatives recognizes the young people of the Silver Bluff High School NJROTC Rifle Team for their exceptional discipline and showmanship, and expects only to hear of further successes from the team in future years. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, honor and recognize the Silver Bluff High School Navy Reserve Officer Training Corps for its outstanding win of the 2007 NJROTC Rifle Team Championship and wish the team members and their instructors all the best in future competition.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to the school officials, instructors, and team members of the Silver Bluff High School Navy Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps on the House Floor at a date and time to be determined by the Speaker.
