A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR LILLIAN SWENTON WILLIAMS, NATIVE OF FLORENCE COUNTY, ON THE HAPPY OCCASION OF HER ONE HUNDREDTH BIRTHDAY, AND TO WISH HER ALL THE BEST IN THE COMING YEARS.

Whereas, Lillian Swenton Williams was born on March 22, 1907, to her proud parents, Walterman McDaniel and Daisy McDaniel; and

Whereas, raised in Florence, Mrs. Williams attended Florence County public schools; and

Whereas, a devoted wife, Mrs. Williams spent most of her adult life working with her husband on their farm; and

Whereas, a steadfast member of Mount Carmel Baptist Church, Mrs. Williams shares her faith with fellow Christians by serving as a member of the Deaconess Board and the Women's Lodge; and

Whereas, on March 24, 2007, Mrs. Williams and her family and many friends will come together at Mount Carmel Baptist Church in Timmonsville, South Carolina to celebrate her abundant life and the many ways in which she has touched the lives of those who know her; and

Whereas, it is with great pride that the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives pause in their deliberations to honor this South Carolina daughter for one hundred years of love and commitment to her family and community. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, recognize and honor Lillian Swenton Williams, native of Florence County, on the happy occasion of her one hundredth birthday, and wish her all the best in the coming years.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mrs. Lillian Swenton Williams.
