A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZE AND COMMEND THE CHAPIN HIGH SCHOOL FLIGHT ON THEIR IMPRESSIVE WIN OF THE 2007 SCHOLASTIC AA STATE COLOR GUARD CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE, AND TO HONOR THE TEAM AND INSTRUCTORS BEN HIPP AND COURTNEY LAMPERT ON AN EXCEPTIONAL SEASON.

Whereas, the Chapin High School Flight captured top honors at the 2007 Scholastic AA State Color Guard Championship, hosted by the South Carolina Band Directors Association at Charleston's West Ashley High School on Saturday, March 24, 2007; and

Whereas, commitment joins with exceptional talent and skill in the Chapin High School Flight, and displaying all these traits, the members of the Chapin High School Flight color guard showed both fans and foes alike that this team was a force to be reckoned with; and

Whereas, prior to winning the 2007 Scholastic AA State Color Guard Championship, the team members had already proven their mettle during an excellent season, during which they grabbed championships and other awards both near and far; and

Whereas, instructors Ben Hipp and Courtney Lampert, with grueling practices, hard work, and determination, built their color guard program into a championship team; and

Whereas, it is with great pride that the members of the House of Representatives, expecting to hear of further success in years to come, recognize the young people of the Chapin High School Flight for their winning talent and discipline. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize and commend the Chapin High School Flight on their impressive win of the 2007 Scholastic AA State Color Guard Championship title, and honor the team and instructors Ben Hipp and Courtney Lampert on an exceptional season.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to the principal of Chapin High School, Mr. Mike Satterfield, and instructors Ben Hipp and Courtney Lampert.
