A JOINT RESOLUTION TO ALLOW THE GOVERNING BODY OF A COUNTY BY ORDINANCE TO POSTPONE FOR ONE ADDITIONAL YEAR A COUNTYWIDE PROPERTY TAX EQUALIZATION AND REASSESSMENT PROGRAM OTHERWISE SCHEDULED FOR IMPLEMENTATION BEGINNING FOR PROPERTY TAX YEAR 2008.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
Implementation delay allowed
SECTION 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of Section 12-43-217 of the 1976 Code, a county otherwise scheduled to implement a countywide property tax equalization and reassessment program effective beginning for the 2008 property tax year, by ordinance may postpone that implementation for one additional year.
Time effective
SECTION 2. This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
Ratified the 5th day of June, 2008.
Approved the 11th day of June, 2008.
