VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
TO COMMEND EVELYN PITTMAN TICE, SPARTANBURG DEPUTY CITY MANAGER, FOR HER OUTSTANDING SERVICE UPON THE OCCASION OF HER RETIREMENT, AND TO WISH HER MUCH SUCCESS AND HAPPINESS IN ALL HER FUTURE ENDEAVORS.
Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives note that, after seventeen years of outstanding service with the City Manager's Office, Evelyn Pittman Tice retired from the position of Spartanburg deputy city manager on June 1, 2007; and
Whereas, in preparation for her career, Evelyn Pittman Tice earned a bachelor's degree in political science at Alcorn State University in Mississippi and a master's degree in public administration at Wichita State University in Kansas; and
Whereas, having previously worked her way up through positions of increasing responsibility in Kansas and North Carolina, Mrs. Tice began her work with the Spartanburg City Manager's Office in 1990 and has served there as assistant city manager, interim city manager, and, most recently, deputy city manager; and
Whereas, in her various capacities, Mrs. Tice has rendered invaluable service through administrative support to neighborhood groups, program management, citizen participation planning, customer service, budget development, implementation, and monitoring, as well as revenue estimating and management. She has been responsible for a $33 million annual operating budget, a $150 million six-year capital improvements program, and implementation of a multi-year strategic plan; and
Whereas, the House of Representatives wishes to express the gratitude of the State of South Carolina for her dedicated service and hopes she will enjoy her well-earned retirement in many pleasant hours with her family and friends. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, commend Evelyn Pittman Tice, Spartanburg deputy city manager, for her outstanding service upon the occasion of her retirement, and wish her much success and happiness in all her future endeavors.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Evelyn Pittman Tice.
