A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

CONGRATULATING BOY SCOUT TROOP 329, OF GEORGETOWN COUNTY, ON THE SEVENTIETH ANNIVERSARY OF ITS FOUNDING AND ITS INVALUABLE CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE YOUTH OF THE TOWN OF ANDREWS AND THE CITIZENS OF SOUTH CAROLINA.

Whereas, in March 2007, Boy Scout Troop 329 of the Town of Andrews in Georgetown County, celebrated the seventieth anniversary of its founding and commemorated seventy years of providing invaluable service to the Andrews community and positively impacting thousands of South Carolina families; and

Whereas, the Boy Scout organization has inspired boys to hold the highest standards of character, conduct, patriotism, citizenship, and personal fitness to prepare them to lead and participate in the society of the United States of America; and

Whereas, through various training processes, the Boy Scout organization encourages various endeavors for which its members are awarded merit badges that signify mastery of certain skills; and

Whereas, the Boy Scout organization requires its members to pass rigorous specific tests and challenges, and to fulfill lofty requirements and demonstrate undisputable proficiency in the critical areas of leadership, service, and outdoor skills; and

Whereas, the Eagle Scout serves as the Boy Scout organization's highest achievement and also signifies a tremendous level of accomplishment deeply respected in the world of Scouting and throughout the United States; and

Whereas, the seven decades of service provided by Boy Scout Troop 329 epitomizes the greatness of Scouting and provides a source of immense pride to the citizens of the Town of Andrews, Georgetown County, and all of South Carolina. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:

That the members of the South Carolina General Assembly, by this resolution, congratulate the founders, leaders, and members of Boy Scout Troop 329, of Georgetown County, on the seventieth anniversary of the troop's founding and for its invaluable contributions to the youth of the Town of Andrews and the citizens of South Carolina, and express its heartfelt wishes for many more decades of service.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution presented to the leaders of Boy Scout Troop 329, of Georgetown County, on behalf of the troop.
